- In a pitcher, stir the sugar into the warm water until it looks clear and the sugar is fully dissolved.
- Add your fresh lemon juice. Stir and taste. It should taste very strong.
- Add cold water a little at a time, stirring and tasting as you go to achieve your desired flavor.
- Add ice liberally and include lemon slices if desired.
Notes
Do not skip dissolving sugar in warm water first. If your lemons taste slightly bitter, strain the juice to catch seeds and extra pulp.
