  • 1 bottle white wine, chilled Crisp and affordable white wine, such as Pinot Grigio or Sauvignon Blanc.
  • 2 cups apple cider, chilled Apple cider gives the best flavor.
  • 1 to 2 pieces apples, sliced thin Choose crisp apples, like Honeycrisp or Pink Lady.
  • 1 piece pear, sliced Optional, adds sweetness.
  • 1 to 2 sticks cinnamon sticks Enhances the fall flavor.
  • 2 to 4 tablespoons caramel sauce Plus extra for drizzling glasses.
  • 1 to 2 cups ginger ale or club soda For topping.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Pour the wine and apple cider into a big pitcher.
  2. Whisk in the caramel sauce until mostly mixed in.
  3. Add apple slices, pear slices (if using), and cinnamon sticks.
  4. Cover and chill for at least 2 hours, preferably overnight.
Serving
  1. Drizzle caramel inside each glass if desired.
  2. Add ice to the glass, pour the sangria base in, and top with ginger ale or club soda.

Notes

This recipe is flexible: adjust sweetness with more caramel or use club soda for a lighter drink. Great with cozy snacks like caramel apple bread. Make ahead for best results.
