Ingredients

For the Dip
  • 8 oz Cream cheese, softened Full fat gives the best texture.
  • 1 cup Powdered sugar For sweetness without any grit.
  • 1 tsp Vanilla extract A small splash adds a cheesecake flavor.
  • 1/2 cup Caramel sauce Store bought is fine.
  • 1/4 cup Toffee bits or chopped toffee candy Optional but adds great crunch.
  • 2 medium Apples, for dipping Granny Smith and Honeycrisp are recommended.
  • 1 dash Cinnamon Optional for added warmth.

Method

Preparation
  1. In a medium bowl, beat the softened cream cheese until it looks creamy and light.
  2. Add powdered sugar and vanilla. Beat again until smooth, stopping to scrape the sides of the bowl.
  3. Spread the cheesecake layer into a shallow serving bowl or plate.
  4. Pour caramel sauce over the top according to your preference of thickness.
  5. Sprinkle toffee bits on top. If using cinnamon, dust a little over the caramel.
  6. Chill for 15 to 30 minutes if you have time, for better texture.

Notes

Slice apples just before serving to keep them crisp. Add lemon juice if slicing early to slow browning.
