- Add the sliced carrots to a large skillet along with 1/3 cup of water and a pinch of salt. Cover and simmer on medium for 6 to 8 minutes, until the carrots are just tender.
- Uncover the pan and let the majority of the water cook off.
- Add the butter and brown sugar to the pan. Stir gently as the butter melts and forms a shiny sauce, keeping the heat at medium.
- Allow the mixture to bubble for 3 to 6 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the glaze thickens and coats the carrots.
- Taste and adjust the seasoning, adding more salt or a touch of cinnamon if desired.
Notes
For reheating, warm the carrots with a small knob of butter before serving. They can be made ahead of time and will still taste great.
