Ingredients
  

Main ingredients
  • 1 cup blueberries fresh is great, frozen is totally fine
  • 1 cup water for the syrup
  • 3/4 to 1 cup sugar regular white sugar keeps the color bright
  • 1 to 2 teaspoons culinary lavender dried buds
  • 1 cup fresh lemon juice about 4 to 6 lemons
  • 3 to 4 cups cold water still or sparkling, depending on your mood

Method
 

Make the blueberry lavender simple syrup
  1. In a small pot, add blueberries, water, sugar (adjust for sweetness), and culinary lavender.
  2. Bring to a gentle simmer and stir until the sugar dissolves.
  3. Let it bubble for about 5 to 7 minutes until blueberries burst and the syrup turns deep purple.
  4. Take it off the heat and let it sit for 10 minutes to steep.
  5. Strain through a fine strainer into a jar. Press berries gently to extract juice.
Mix the lemonade
  1. In a pitcher, mix fresh lemon juice, blueberry lavender simple syrup, and cold water.
  2. Stir, taste, and adjust sweetness or tartness as desired.
Serve it
  1. Pour over ice and add fresh blueberries, lemon slices, lavender buds, or mint if desired.

Notes

Do not overdo the lavender; too much can taste soapy. Store leftover syrup in the fridge for up to 1-2 weeks. This drink is also delicious with brunch.
