Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare a baking dish (around 9x9 inches).
  2. In a bowl, toss sliced peaches and blackberries with brown sugar, cornstarch, cinnamon, salt, and vanilla. Pour the mixture into the prepared baking dish.
  3. In another bowl, combine flour, baking powder, salt, and brown sugar. Stir in milk and melted butter, mixing until just combined.
  4. Spoon the batter evenly over the fruit filling, allowing it to look a bit rustic.
Baking
  1. Bake in the preheated oven for 40 to 50 minutes, or until the edges are bubbling and the top is golden.
  2. If the top browns too quickly, loosely cover with foil for the last 10 minutes.
  3. Let cool for about 15 minutes before serving to allow the filling to thicken.

Notes

Serve warm with vanilla ice cream, whipped cream, Greek yogurt, or toasted nuts for added texture and flavor. Can be made ahead and stored in the refrigerator for up to 4 days.
