Ingredients
  

Main Ingredients
  • 1 cup Old fashioned oats
  • 1 cup Milk of choice
  • 1/2 - 1 piece Ripe banana, mashed
  • 1/4 cup Chopped nuts (walnuts or pecans)
  • 1/2 teaspoon Cinnamon
  • a pinch Salt
Optional Additions
  • 1/4 cup Greek yogurt For added creaminess and protein
  • 1 tablespoon Chia seeds To thicken and add fiber
  • 1-2 tablespoons Honey or maple syrup For added sweetness if desired

Method
 

Preparation
  1. In a jar or container, mash the ripe banana using a fork.
  2. Add the oats, milk, cinnamon, and salt. If using, add Greek yogurt or chia seeds.
  3. Stir well to combine all ingredients, making sure there are no dry oats at the bottom.
  4. Cover and refrigerate overnight or for at least 4 hours.
Serving
  1. In the morning, stir the oats and add a splash of milk if it’s too thick.
  2. Top with chopped nuts just before eating for added crunch.

Notes

Overnight oats can last in the fridge for 3 to 4 days. Adjust liquids based on personal preference for thickness. Microwave to warm if desired.
