Method
Cooking the Ground Beef
- Start with a large skillet over medium heat. Add the ground beef and break it up with a spoon.
- Cook for a few minutes until browned, then add chopped onion and let's soften.
- Add garlic for the last 30 seconds to avoid burning.
- Drain excess grease if necessary, leaving a small amount for flavor.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste.
Putting it Together and Baking
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a baking dish, combine baked beans, ketchup, BBQ sauce, mustard, Worcestershire sauce, and brown sugar if using.
- Fold in the cooked beef mixture.
- Bake uncovered for 30 to 40 minutes until bubbling and thicker on top.
- For thicker texture, bake longer; cover with foil if it gets dark on top.
- Let sit for a few minutes to thicken and enhance flavors before serving.
Notes
Customize with bacon, spices, or vegetables as desired. Leftovers are great and can be frozen.
