Ingredients
  

For the smokie wraps
  • 1 package Little smokies Use regular-sized smokies for best results.
  • 1 pound Bacon Regular cut bacon works best; thick cut may be tricky.
  • 1/2 cup Brown sugar Optional but highly recommended for sweet flavor.
For optional flavors
  • 1 pinch Cayenne pepper For optional heat.
  • 1 tablespoon Honey or maple syrup Optional glaze.
For baking
  • 1 sheet Foil or parchment paper For lining the baking sheet.
  • 1 Toothpicks Essential for securing the bacon on the smokies.
  • 1 Wire rack Optional; helps bacon crisp up.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Cut each bacon slice into thirds.
  3. Wrap each smokie with a piece of bacon and secure with a toothpick.
Baking
  1. Place the wrapped smokies on a baking sheet lined with foil or parchment paper.
  2. Bake in the preheated oven for 25 to 35 minutes until the bacon is crispy and the sugar is bubbly.

Notes

Serve hot or warm with a selection of dips like BBQ or mustard. These are perfect for parties and can be made ahead of time.
