Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F and butter a 9 by 13 inch baking dish.
- Unroll the crescent dough, place one apple wedge at the wide end of each triangle, and roll it up snugly.
- Tuck the ends if you can, then place each dumpling seam side down in the pan.
Make the Sauce
- Whisk together melted butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, vanilla, and a small pinch of salt.
- Pour this evenly over the dumplings.
Add the Soda
- Pour the soda gently around the edges and between the dumplings.
Baking
- Bake for 33 to 38 minutes until puffed, deeply golden, and the sauce is thick and glossy.
- Rest for at least 10 minutes before serving.
Notes
Serve warm with vanilla ice cream or lightly sweetened whipped cream. Store leftovers covered in the fridge for up to 3 days.
