  • 8 cups apple cider Fresh pressed is best, use shelf stable if unavailable.
  • 4 cups ginger ale Classic ginger ale or ginger beer for more bite.
Fruit and Spices
  • 1 large lemon Sliced for brightening the flavor.
  • 1 large orange Sliced for brightening the flavor.
  • 4 sticks cinnamon sticks For aroma and flavor.
  • 2 cups thin apple slices Use varieties like Honeycrisp or Pink Lady.
  • 1 cup fresh cranberries For color, optional.
Optional Add-Ins
  • 1-2 oz bourbon For spiking the punch, optional.
  • 1 tbsp maple syrup To sweeten if cider is tart, optional.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Chill apple cider and ginger ale beforehand for less ice diluted punch.
  2. In a large pitcher or punch bowl, pour in the apple cider.
  3. Add the citrus slices, cinnamon sticks, apple slices, and cranberries.
  4. Right before serving, pour in the ginger ale and gently stir.
  5. Taste the punch and adjust the flavor with lemon juice or maple syrup if necessary.
  6. Serve over ice or use an ice ring to prevent dilution.

Notes

For gatherings, set up as a mocktail and provide bourbon on the side for those who want to spike it.
