Ingredients

Dough Ingredients
  • 1 cup Warm milk Not hot, just warm like bath water
  • 2 teaspoons Active dry yeast Ensure it's fresh for best results
  • 1 tablespoon Sugar For activating the yeast
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 large Egg
  • 2 tablespoons Butter Melted or very soft
  • 3 cups All purpose flour Add gradually
Filling Ingredients
  • 1/4 cup Brown sugar For filling
  • 1 tablespoon Cinnamon For filling
  • 2 tablespoons Butter For spreading on the dough
Icing Ingredients
  • 1 cup Powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons Milk A splash
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract

Method

Preparation
  1. Wake up the yeast: In a bowl, mix warm milk with a spoon of sugar, then sprinkle in the yeast. Let it sit for about 5 to 10 minutes until it looks foamy.
  2. Make the dough: Stir in the rest of the sugar, salt, egg, and butter. Gradually add flour until you have a soft, smooth dough. Knead for a few minutes.
  3. Let it rise: Place the dough in a lightly greased bowl, cover, and let it rise until doubled in size, about 1 hour.
Filling and Cooking
  1. Roll and fill: Roll the dough into a rectangle, spread softened butter over it, and sprinkle with a mix of brown sugar and cinnamon. Roll tightly like a log.
  2. Slice and rest: Cut into rolls, let them sit for about 15 to 20 minutes to puff up again.
  3. Air fry: Preheat the air fryer to 320°F. Place rolls in a greased pan or directly on parchment. Air fry for 8 to 12 minutes until golden.
  4. Ice and enjoy: Mix powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla. Drizzle over warm rolls.

Notes

These rolls can be made ahead of time by refrigerating the sliced rolls overnight or freezing unbaked rolls for later. Warm up the icing for easy drizzling.
