Ingredients

Main ingredients
  • 2 apples Apples (any kind, preferably Honeycrisp, Granny Smith, or Gala)
Optional flavorings
  • 1 tsp Cinnamon Optional, adds cozy flavor.
  • 1 tsp Sweetener Optional, a light dusting of sugar or spray of oil.
  • 1 tsp Lemon juice Optional, helps slow browning.

Method

Preparation
  1. Wash and dry the apples. No need to peel unless desired.
  2. Slice the apples as thin as possible using a sharp knife or mandoline slicer. Remove any obvious seeds.
  3. Optional: Sprinkle cinnamon, or cinnamon plus a tiny pinch of salt for added flavor.
  4. Lay slices in the air fryer basket in one layer, allowing a little overlap.
Cooking
  1. Air fry at 300°F for 10 to 16 minutes, flipping halfway through. Cooking time may vary based on thickness and air fryer model.
  2. Allow the apple chips to cool on a plate or rack for 5 to 10 minutes to ensure they crisp up.

Notes

Ensure slices are thin and evenly sized for the best texture. Store cooled chips in a moisture-free container to maintain crunch. If they soften, re-crisp in the air fryer for 1 to 2 minutes.
