I love a good meatloaf. And if you like Meatloaf, chances are you like a good meatloaf sandwich too. That is where the inspiration for this recipe Meatloaf Patty Melt came from. It’s kinda like an old-fashioned tuna melt but with a meatloaf filling. You got your toasted bun, meatloaf filling, and then topped off with melted cheese. Humble. Filling. Yummy.

Step 1: Prepare the oven. Preheat it to 450 degrees F. In half lengthwise, split the rolls and place them on a baking sheet. Set aside.

Step 2: Place the ground beef, crushed crackers, egg, onion, milk, 4 tablespoons ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, dried thyme, garlic powder, and salt and pepper in a medium bowl. Mix well until combined.

Step 3: Top the bun-halves with the meat mixture, making sure to evenly spread them out on the buns. On top of the meat mixture, spread additional ketchup. You can add more or a little amount of ketchup according to your preference.

Step 4: Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake the meatloaf for approximately 15 to 20 minutes or until the internal temperature of the meat reached 160 degrees. Remove from the oven when done and top with the shredded cheese. Return to the oven and continue baking for another 2 to 3 minutes or until the cheese has melted.
