The difference in donuts and sweet bread ?
A sweetbread is kind of dough that is typically yeast-based, that means it requires some time for it to develop. Doughnuts, on the contrary, is typically made from baking powder and is made in just a few just a few minutes. The texture of sweet bread will be more dense due to the fact that it has been in the oven for hours however, the doughnut’s texture will be more bouncy .

Bread Ingredients :
1/4 C of canola oil
1/4 C unsalted butter (softened)
1 C sugar
2 large eggs (room temp)
1 tsp vanilla
1 1/2 cups of flour
1 tsp baking soda
1/2 1 tsp salt
1/2 C buttermilk 1/2 C buttermilk
1/2 tsp of cinnamon
1/2 tsp Molasses
Coating Ingredients :
12 Unsalted Butter 1/2 C (melted)
1/4 C sugar
1/4 C brown sugar (packed)
1/2 tsp of cinnamon
- I make use of 1 1/2 C whole milk, mixed by 1/2 teaspoon white vinegar to make an alternative to buttermilk.
Preheat the oven to 350°F.

The coating is ready in the pan while it’s cooling.
Pour the butter that is melted in large shallow dish. Add both sugars and cinnamon, stirring until well mixed.
Dip the sides of the loaf in the melting butter until it is the bread is coated.
Spread the butter that has melted over the edges.
Remove the bread of the butter that has been melted and place each piece into the mix of sugar and cinnamon, making sure that each side is coated. Sprinkle the cinnamon-sugar mixture over the bread.
