Sloppy Joe Grilled Burritos

With just a few simple ingredients and some time on the grill, you can have flavorful burritos that are packed full of deliciousness. Plus, don’t worry if things get sloppy – after all, it is called a “Sloppy Joe”!

What type of tortillas are recommended for the Sloppy Joe Grilled Burritos?
It’s best to use large flour tortillas. You can use smaller tortillas if you are feeding kids or want to make the recipe stretch further.

What type of cheese is recommended for the Sloppy Joe Grilled Burritos?
We typically use shredded cheddar cheese. It balances out the flavors and goes well with the other ingredients. You can also use Pepper Jack, Monterey jack, mozzarella, Colby, or anything else you like.

Ingredients :

2lbs Lean Ground Beef
½ C Onions (chopped)
¼ C Red Bell Peppers (chopped)
¼ C Green Bell Peppers (chopped)
1 T Salt, Pepper, Garlic Salt
½ T Dry Mustard
½ C prepared Cheese Sauce, see recipe under, “Sauces”
½ C Shredded Cheddar Cheese or use your favorite

½ C Ketchup
3 T Worcestershire Sauce
1 T Brown Sugar
½ T Salt, Pepper, Onion Powder and Garlic Salt
4-6 Large Flour Tortillas (Wheat can be substituted)
1 T Oil

Steps to follow:

Combine the ground beef and seasonings in a mixing bowl.
Brown your seasoned Ground Beef over medium-high heat for about 6-8 minutes.

Add the onion, red, and green bell peppers and sauté for another 2 minutes, or until the veggies are tender. Keep yourself warm.

Combine ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, brown sugar, salt, onion powder, and pepper in a separate bowl. Blend thoroughly. Keep heating by pouring over the beef.
Fill the center of big flour tortillas with the filling.
On top of the meat mixture, pour the cheese sauce. Shredded cheese is sprinkled on top. Over medium heat, fold into a burrito and fry for 1 minute per side in oil. Serve immediately.
