Dorito Taco Salad

Dorito Taco Salad is a delectable salad that my family has served at potlucks for as long as I can remember! Everyone loves a good taco salad recipe, and this one is a surefire crowd pleaser! Seasoned ground beef, fresh chopped lettuce, tomatoes, and, of course, Doritos combine to create an entertaining change to your regular menu!
Though I adore salads, they may become boring at times. This Dorito Taco Salad certainly shakes up the same old salad’ slump that we often find ourselves in. Not only is it easy to prepare, but it is also delectable!

I adore everything taco-inspired, from pasta to casseroles… and specifically salads! If you have leftover taco beef from another dish, it works well in this taco salad. Indeed, I frequently double the batch of taco meat and freeze it for extra-quick meals on busy weeknights.
The remaining materials are straightforward and readily available. Pinto beans and dried sliced black olives are still staples in my pantry. I still have lettuce, tomatoes, mushrooms, cheese, peppers, and sour cream on the side.
Of course, you shouldn’t skip the Doritos; we like the Nacho Cheese flavor for this taco salad, but you can use any flavor you want!

Ingredients:

1 medium-large tomato, diced
4 oz 50% less fat or 2% sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
4 oz nacho cheese Doritos, broken up a bit into bite sized pieces
1 lb 95% lean ground beef
1 (1.25 oz) packet reduced sodium taco seasoning
1 medium-large head of iceberg lettuce, chopped into bite sized pieces
1 cup light Catalina or French dressing

Directions:

Brown the ground beef in a skillet over medium heat, breaking it up into pieces with a wooden spoon. Add the packet of taco seasoning and stir until well coated. Set aside.

In a large serving bowl, combine the lettuce, tomatoes, cheese and ground beef. When ready to serve, add the Doritos and dressing and toss to coat.
