Enjoy a tender, incredibly juicy with wonderful flavours any time with this easy Classic meatloaf!
This is the best meatloaf recipe ever! This traditional meatloaf recipe is just like mom used to make, made with ground beef and a sweet and tangy glaze topping.
I think the trick to good meatloaf is using lean ground beef. The problem with a lot of meatloaf recipes is that they call for ground beef with a high fat content. As the meatloaf cooks, the fat cooks out and makes a greasy mess.
You may be thinking, but wonโt lean ground beef make the meatloaf dry? Not at all! The milk, egg, ketchup, and diced onion in the meat mixture are all working to keep the meatloaf moist and delicious.
INGREDIENTS :
2 tablespoons butter
1 onion, diced
2 pounds ground beef, or half beef/turkey beef/pork
1 teaspoon oregano
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1 cup fresh, not dry bread crumbs
2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
2 Eggs
1/2 cup milk
3/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon fresh ground pepper
Topping:
1/4 cup brown sugar
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1/3 cup ketchup
DIRECTIONS :
Step 1: Prepare the oven. Preheat it to 350 degrees.
Step 2: Melt the butter in a skillet. Add the onion and saute until tender and start to turn golden.
Step 3: In a large bowl, place the ground beef, bread crumbs, Parmesan cheese, oregano, garlic powder, salt & pepper, then the sauteed onions.
Step 4: Beat the eggs with milk and Worcestershire Sauce in a small bowl.
Step 5: Into the large bowl, pour the liquid and mix using your hands until combined.
Step 6: Onto an edged baking sheet lined with parchment paper or a Silpat, scoop the mixture and form the meat into about 5 inches wide and 2 inches thick loaf.
Step 7: Combine the topping ingredients (brown sugar, ketchup, and Worcestershire sauce) in a small bowl until blended, then spread this over the loaf.
Step 8: Place in the preheated oven and bake the meatloaf for about an hour or until its internal temperature reached no more than 170 degrees (ideal temperature is 160 degrees). Remove from the oven when done and let the meatloaf rest for about 10 minutes.
Step 9: Slice and serve. Enjoy!
