For the Cake:

1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 cup granulated sugar
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
3/4 cup milk
1 large egg
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/4 cup melted butter

For the Cinnamon Swirl:

1/2 cup softened butter
1/2 cup light brown sugar
1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
1 tablespoon ground cinnamon

For the Cream Cheese Frosting:

1 cup powdered sugar
2 tablespoons softened butter
4 ounces cream cheese
1-2 tablespoons milk
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract


Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Grease an 8×8-inch baking dish.

In a large bowl, combine the flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, milk, egg, vanilla extract, and melted butter. Stir until well combined. Pour the mixture into the prepared baking dish and spread it evenly.

In a separate bowl, prepare the cinnamon swirl topping by combining the softened butter, light brown sugar, flour, and ground cinnamon. Mix until smooth.

Drop small spoonfuls of the cinnamon swirl mixture evenly over the top of the cake batter. Use a knife to swirl through the cake, creating a marbled effect.

Bake for 30-37 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

While the cake is still warm, prepare the cream cheese frosting. In a bowl, cream together the butter and cream cheese. Add powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and enough milk to achieve a smooth and soft frosting consistency.

Drizzle the cream cheese frosting over the warm cake. Serve the cake warm and enjoy the delightful flavors.
