Banana Pudding Pound Cake

I promise you this Banana Pudding Pound Cake tastes just like Banana Pudding in cake form without the addition of pudding mix in the batter!
Baby this cake is definitely going to knock your socks off! We’re not using any pudding mix in the batter of this cake and it’s still going to taste exactly like Banana Pudding.

The cream cheese in the batter along with the addition of the mashed banana and banana extract creates this delicious banana flavor.

The cream cheese and banana also infuse this cake with moisture. So let’s get into this recipe so I can show you how it’s done!

INGREDIENTS

1/2 cup of sugar
2 1/2 tablespoons of cornstarch
1/4 teaspoon salt
3 egg yolks
2 cups of whole milk
2 1/2 tablespoons of unsalted butter cubed
2 1/2 tablespoons banana liqueur or banana syrup
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Bananas, sliced, garnish
1 box of Nilla wafers

PREPARATION

Mix together cornstarch, sugar along with salt, in an enormous pot.
Beat egg yolks and milk. Then, heat the mixture on medium-low heat, and make sure to stir continuously for about 10-12 minutes or until it becomes thicker.
When it has become slightly thicker, remove from the stove (it continues to increase in thickness as it cools) and mix in the butter, banana liqueur, as well as vanilla extract.
If you donโ€™t want to serve it immediately Wrap in plastic wrap (and make sure that itโ€™s not touching the pudding so that it doesnโ€™t develop a skin) and then refrigerate until set.
Enjoy with Nulla Wafers chopped bananas, or whip cream. Enjoy!
