Ingredients

Cake Base
  • 1 box box of white cake mix Or your favorite homemade cake recipe.
Fillings
  • 1 can sweetened condensed milk For a rich creamy texture.
  • 1 pkg vanilla pudding mix Thinned with a little milk to mimic custard.
  • 1 pkg white chocolate pudding mix Delicious with crushed peppermint.
  • 1 box strawberry gelatin Provides a fruity flavor and festive appearance.
  • 1 pkg chocolate pudding mix Plus a pinch of espresso powder for a mocha twist.
Frosting and Toppings
  • 1 container Cool Whip For a light and fluffy topping.
  • 1 pkg cream cheese frosting Perfect with vanilla cakes.
  • 1 batch buttercream frosting For a sturdier decoration.
  • 1 cup red and green sprinkles For a festive look.
  • 1 cup crushed candy canes For a refreshing minty flavor.
  • 1 cup cherries and kiwi For a fresh fruit topping.

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven and bake the boxed cake mix or your favorite homemade cake recipe in a 9x13 inch pan.
  2. Allow the cake to cool for about 10 to 15 minutes until it is warm but not hot.
Poking and Filling
  1. Use the handle of a wooden spoon or a thick straw to poke holes evenly across the cake.
  2. Pour the chosen filling slowly into the holes, allowing time for it to soak in.
  3. Chill the cake in the refrigerator for at least 4 hours, preferably overnight.
Frosting and Decoration
  1. Once chilled, frost the cake with your choice of topping.
  2. Add festive decorations such as sprinkles, crushed candy canes, or fresh fruit.

Notes

This cake is better when made the night before, allowing the filling to soak in. Store covered in the fridge for up to 3 days. Avoid adding too much liquid food coloring to frosting as it can affect the texture.
