Pizza Burgers Recipe

one bite into these open-faced pizza burgers and I was immediately struck with a sense of nostalgia. If you grew up eating English muffin pizzas like I did, these cheesy burgers will be right up your alley. They taste like a beefed-up version of the childhood favorite.

This recipe is like a pizza-burger hybrid: It borrows the very best traits from each to form a comforting, family-friendly meal. With some basic ingredients and 20 minutes on the clock, you too can sit down to this deliciousness.

This kid-friendly dinner comes together in three simple steps. Before getting started, position an oven rack to about six inches under the broiler. You won’t use the broiler until the end of cooking, but it’s easiest to do it before the oven heats up.

The first step is to toast the split English muffins on a sheet pan in the oven. While they’re crisping, you’ll brown the ground beef on the stovetop, and mix in a couple spices and just enough marinara to make it saucy. Spoon the saucy beef over the toasted English muffins and sprinkle with shredded mozzarella, then broil for just a minute or so to melt the cheese.

Heat through. Add the ground beef and cook all the way through,.

Once the meat is cooked, add chopped pepperoni, add the tomato soup, water and pizza seasoning.

Reduce to low and let simmer.

While the meat and sauce are simmering, preheat the oven on broil and spread the butter evenly on each English muffin half. Sprinkle with garlic salt.

Pop these under the broiler on a cookie sheet for about 2 minutes or until they begin to brown just on the edges.

Take out of the oven and top each English muffin with about 1/4 cup of the meat and sauce mixture.

Top each of those with the cheese.

Place back under the broiler for another 2-3 minutes or until the cheese turns golden brown and bubbly.
