I love putting a fun twist to every recipe I know. I am proud to say that most of my experiments are a success. Thus, I envy whoever thought of this amazing bacon cheeseburger pie! Itโs super good, very easy, and quick to throw together, and everyone loves it.
INGREDIENTS :
1 pound cooked extra lean ground beef
1 package Pillsbury reduced fat crescent rolls
2 tablespoons ketchup
1/4 c. panko crumbs
2 tablespoons mustard (I used honey Dijon)
4 slices low point bacon cooked (I use Oscar Mayer centre cut, 2 slices for 1pp)
2/3 c. light grated cheese I use weight watchers Mexican blend
DIRECTIONS :
Step 1: In a pan, cook the ground beef until no longer pink. Drain the grease when done.
Step 2: Cook the bacon and drain the excess grease.
Step 3: Prepare the oven. Preheat it to 325 degrees F. Grease an 8-inch pie dish and set aside.
Step 4: Into the prepared pie dish, spread the crescent rolls out to make the pie shell. Trim the excess as needed. Place the dough in the preheated oven and bake for about 5 minutes.
Step 5: Place the cooked ground beef, ketchup, mustard, panko crumbs, 1/3 cup cheese (reserve 1/3), and 2 slices of crumbled cooked bacon (keep 2 slices for later) in a bowl. Mix well until combined.
Step 6: Into the dough shell, pour the beef mixture, and top with the rest of the cheese and crumbled bacon.
Step 7: Place in the oven again and bake the pie for an additional 8 to 10 minutes. Make sure to check often to prevent burning the dough.
Step 8: Remove from the oven when done and slice the pie into 6 pieces.
Step 9: Serve and enjoy!
